Staff Engineer
Job role/responsibilities:
i. Conventional and specialty retaining wall design, Specialty Precast Concrete Design, Bridge Design, Bridge Load Rating, for transportation projects
ii. Assist with project estimating
iii. Work in project teams consisting of CAD technicians, engineers and project managers, providing design support to Senior Engineers and Project Managers, and coordinating directly with project CAD resources on day-to-day production, overall progress and incorporating solutions
iv. Occasionally use CAD software to assist with drawing production, incorporate solutions, as-builts or Issued For Construction documents
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, E.I.T certification preferred, 0-5 years of design experience, MicroStation or Autodesk experience preferred

Engineer
Ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience in civil design, including retaining wall and/or bridge design, competency in structural steel design and reinforced concrete design, and possess a working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code.
Primary responsibilities include:
(a) provide design calculations on retaining wall projects and bridge projects,
(b) coordinate with CAD techs to produce complete and accurate plans,
(c) occasionally use CAD to produce as-built revisions or incorporate minor project changes.
Other responsibilities: project estimating/quantity take-offs, provide independent peer review of project designs, adhere to internal QC design/plan checking standards.
Certifications required:
Professional Engineer’s license in either Michigan (preferred), Texas or Florida is required (or the ability to obtain P.E. license w/in 6 months).
Additional qualifications/skills:
Competency in reinforced concrete design and structural steel design is required. Prestressed and/or precast concrete design is a plus. Must be proficient in MS Excel and MS Word. Experience working with Mathcad, LEAP software, Staad Pro, etc. is a plus.
